Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Basheer Lado, says nominees for Managing Director and Executive Director, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) will strengthen public trust in the financial institutions.

A statement by the Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Sunday Iyogun indicated that Lado said this while presenting the nominees for screening to Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions.

The nominees, forwarded by President Bola Tinubu for screening and confirmation, are Mr. Thompson Oludare Sunday for Managing Director and Mr. Kabir Sabo Katata for Executive Director.

Senator Lado said their nominations underscore President Tinubu’s commitment to reforming and repositioning the financial sector through credible and experienced leadership.

“These nominations are based on proven competence, deep sectoral experience, and a shared vision with the President to promote financial stability, protect depositors, and strengthen the public’s trust in the banking system,” he said.

Chairman of the Committee, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, thanked the Special Adviser for his commitment to facilitating relations between the President and the Senate.

He assured that the committee would conduct a fair screening of the nominees in line with legislative procedures and make recommendations to the Senate for confirmation.
