NDLEA arrests Offenders in Kwara State

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Kwara State Command, North Central Nigeria has arrested four suspects for allegedly dealing in illegal substances suspected to be cannabis.

 

The suspects were napped at a hotel in Ilorin, the state capital.

The State Commander of the agency, Ibrahim Mohammed while briefing journalists on the development, said the latest arrest also includes a 21-year-old girl, Ishola Bisola whom the agency disclosed is being used as an agent to hawk the dangerous drugs.

 

The NDLEA Boss disclosed that preliminary investigations have revealed that one of the suspects, Yusuf Yahaya who was arrested while conveying cannabis sativa weighing 31kilograms through Kwara State to Kebbi and Zamfara State axis is a supplier of hard drugs to bandits around the axis.

 

According to him, the arrest of the suspects reaffirms the agency’s readiness to intensify its fight against illegal drug supply in the coming year 2024.

 

He added that immediately after the incident investigation is completed, all the suspects would be charged in court.
