NDLEA destroys tons of skunk in Edo, seizes Loud from Canada

Nigeria’s Anti-narcotic Agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have stormed Iwe forest in Iwe community, Owan West local government area of Edo state and destroyed a large warehouse of skunk, used to store large quantities of psychotropic substance weighing 3,003 kilograms.

A press statement by the agency’s spokesperson Mr. Femi BabaFemi disclosed that the operations followed intelligence that a wanted drug kingpin had stored tons of illicit substance in the forest ready for distribution to other parts of the country.

Also, NDLEA’S operatives have recovered 76.9 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis from four used vehicles in a container from Canada at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex, Onne, Rivers state between Thursday 1st June and Friday 2nd June.

 

 

Meanwhile, the operatives have made several arrests of many drug traffickers and seized large quantities of hard drugs in Kano, Kaduna, Borno and Oyo states.

While commending the officers and men of the affected Commands for their commitment and synergy with other law enforcement agencies in their areas of responsibility, the Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, retired Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa urged them and their compatriots across the country to intensify the offensive action against drug cartels while ensuring a balance with drug demand reduction efforts.
