The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has entered into a landmark partnership with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) aimed at strengthening data privacy across Nigeria’s organised private sector.
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the NDPC, Vincent Olatunji, and the leadership of NACCIMA, represented by Jani Ibrahim, during a ceremony held at the association’s headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Olatunji commended NACCIMA, under the leadership of Dr. Jani Ibrahim, for its proactive commitment to promoting data protection and privacy within the private sector.

He commended his participation in the National Privacy Week 2026, and noted that NACCIMA, being a body with numerous data controllers and processors of major importance, is strategic to the Nigerian economy.
Dr Olatunji stated that the MoU is expected to deepen privacy in the organised private sector, and attract foreign direct investments into Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

In his remarks, Dr Ibrahim commended Dr Olatunji for his leadership style at the NDPC.
He noted that global businesses are going digital, and can only be trusted when data protection and privacy have been put in place.
Ibrahim reiterated that operationalising the MoU would boost investor confidence in the Nigerian economy, and improve the general well-being of all citizens and their businesses.
The ceremony concluded with the formal induction of Dr. Vincent Olatunji as a member of NACCIMA, signaling a unified front between the government regulatory body and the nation’s industrial leaders.
