NDPHC Promises Improved Power Supply

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC, Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to deliver power to Nigerians through its diversified generation strategy.

To achieve the mandate, the company which has increased its energy mix has diversified into renewable energy generation with proposed on-grid and off-grid renewable energy projects.

The MD/CEO of NDPHC Mr. Chiedu Ugbo at a two-day training for Power Correspondents in Calabar, Cross River  said the Company will deploy one- hundred thousand solar home systems across the 36 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

We are aware that the power sector is the springboard on which the economy of the country depends on, we will keep faith in this national assignment” said Ugbo “We have the capacity and ability to deliver our mandate as well as electricity to the underserved and unserved population in Nigeria” he added.

NDPHC which had earlier installed 20,000 home units across the country has the cheapest tariff among thermal companies even though they all buy gas at the same price in the market.

Presently, the company has achieved over 4,000MW capacity of electricity generation, with transmission networks being built across the country.
