The Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO), Professor Dantani Wushishi has urged states in Northern Nigeria to pay the outstanding N2.8 billion registration fees for candidates from their respective states.
The Registrar stated this in Minna, Niger state’s capital during the release of the 2021 internal examination results conducted by NECO
According to him, the lack of prompt payment as promised by the various state governments affects the activities of the Council.
Professor Wushishi who commended the performance of candidates in the 2021 internal examination stated that 878,925 out of 1,226,796 candidates for the examination representing 71.64 percent made five credits and above in English language and Mathematics
The NECO Registrar also called on the Northern Governors Forum to assist in the prompt payment of the outstanding fees.
