Neflix cancels ‘Raising Dion’ after two seasons

Netflix has killed another one of its original series. It has been announced that the superhero drama, Raising Dion, will not be returning for a third season. Series star Sammi Haney, who played Esperanza in the series, revealed the news on Instagram and it was later confirmed by Netflix.

The series based on a comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu first premiered in 2019 and ended with its second and last season, which premiered in February 2022.

Announcing the news, cast member Sammi Haney wrote on Instagram, “Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED [sic] Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans! Season 2 was a success, equal to Season 1, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season 3!”

The actress also hinted at her readiness to take on other roles now that the show was over.
