The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has debunked reports of an increase in its students’ monthly upkeep allowance to ₦25,000 from ₦20,000.
The Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, in a statement, said the Fund has noted misinformation circulating regarding the monthly allowance for student beneficiaries.
“For clarity, the approved upkeep allowance remains ₦20,000 and not ₦25,000 as being reported.
“Students are advised to disregard any contrary information and rely only on official NELFUND communication channels for accurate updates,” Oluwatuyi said.

She said “the Fund appreciates the continued cooperation of students and remains committed to delivering transparent, efficient, and student-focused support nationwide.”
