The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the death of five individuals and reported that 55 others have been hospitalized following a devastating flood that swept through parts of Adamawa State.
The victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.
The flood, which inundated homes, roads, and farmlands, has brought human and vehicular movement to a halt, leaving many residents stranded. Electricity supply has also been cut off in the worst-hit areas.
In response, the Adamawa State Government has established two temporary camps for the profiling and support of displaced persons.
The camps are located at Aliyu Mustapha College and Fatudde Girei Secondary School in Yola.
