NEMA refutes claims of warehouse looting

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has dismissed claims that its warehouse in Abuja was looted by residents of Gwagwa-Karimo in the FCT.

In a statement by the Agency’s Head of Press, Ezekiel Manzo, it says the looted warehouse does not belong to the NEMA, however, it sympathizes with owners of the looted facility.

“The attention of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been drawn to media reports on Sunday alleging that the Agency’s warehouse has been looted by some hoodlums in Abuja,the Federal capital Territory.

“To forestall any security breach at NEMA facilities, the Director General, Mustapha Habib Ahmed has directed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to strengthen security in and around the Agency’s offices and warehouses nationwide,” the statement said.
