NEPC to launch maiden national conference on non-oil export

In a move to boost Nigeria’s economy and attract Foreign Direct Investments, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) said it is set to launch its maiden National Conference on non-oil export.

 

The Executive Director of the council, Dr Ezra Yakusak during a press briefing in Abuja said the conference themed: “Export for Survival: Optimizing Nigeria’s Non-oil Export Potentials”, is scheduled to hold from 26th-27thApril, 2022 in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

 

Dr Yakusak explained that the event would serve as a platform for stakeholders in the non-oil export sector to ventilate ideas and viewpoints on current and emerging issues affecting non-oil export.

 

He noted that the conference would also articulate a harmonized position for achieving a sustainable non-oil export performance.

 

According to him, “we intend to also showcase the export potentials of Nigeria by exhibiting various non-oil exportable products at the event, this will be done side by side the Conference.”

 

“Furthermore, host of Speakers that will lead discussion on topical issues such as Emerging issues disrupting Nigeria’s non-oil export and innovative Solutions, Sustainable Market Access for Nigerian Non-oil Export, Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Effective Trade Facilitation, just to mention a few, have been lined up for the event.” 

 

The NEPC boss added that exporters will be encouraged during the conference to scale up productions for those affected by the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

 

“Nobody is Happy about the Russia and Ukraine war but it’s an opportunity for Nigeria to take its products to the affected countries.” Dr Yakusak said.

 

The event will have the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as the Special Guest of Honour. He is also expected to declare the event open.”

 

Similarly, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagum and other prominent government officials, business moguls and practitioners in the non-oil export sector are billed to attend.
