The New Development Bank (NDB), a multilateral financial institution established by the BRICS nations, has announced the appointment of Rajiv Ranjan, Executive Director at the Reserve Bank of India, as its new Vice President.
Ranjan will serve a five-year term, the bank confirmed in a statement.
Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, a career central banker with 35+ years at @RBI, has been appointed Vice-President & Chief Risk Officer of NDB for 5 years. In this role, he will oversee risk management, strategy, policies, partnerships & ESG functions.

He will also serve as the chief risk officer, according to the NDB website.
Ranjan, who joined the Reserve Bank of India in 1989, has served as an executive director and a member of the monetary policy committee since May 2022.
The New Development Bank was established in 2015 by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) for mobilising resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries.
