The Kwara State Governor, North Central Nigeria, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said it received with happiness the appointment of Engr. Bashir Ojulari, a distinguished Kwaran and a big shot in the oil sector, as the new NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).

Governor AbdulRazaq called the appointment another big deal for Kwara and its people as it came a few days after the President graciously named Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe the chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), a critical lever upon which the country’s health sector rests.

The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, congratulated Engr. Ojulari on the appointment, expressing his confidence in his capacity to deliver on the mandate of the President.

“On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, I express our profound appreciation to the President for these A-list appointments. We are very proud to be an integral part of the President’s team,” the Governor said.

“Our prayers, best wishes, and support are with the new appointees and those before them. With stakeholders rallying behind Engr. Ojulari, we are confident that he will take the oil sector to a greater height. We pray that the tenure of Engr. Ojulari and his team records unprecedented success for the country’s oil sector.”

The National Chairman of the Community Association, Alhaji Nasrudeen Salaudeen, described the appointment as “well-merited and a round peg in a round hole”.

In a press statement issued on his behalf by the National Publicity Secretary of the Community Association, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Community Chairman also commended President Tinubu for seeking out Engr Ojulari, who is a seasoned technocrat and a consumate administrator with years of experience in the oil industry, for this highly technical job of the NNPC chief executive officer.

Alhaji Salaudeen expressed confidence that based on the trajectory of his brilliant academic records and wealth of experience in the oil industry, Engr Ojulari would take the Nigerian oil sector to greater heights.

While wishing Engr Ojulari divine wisdom and knowledge to pilot the affairs of NNPC successfully, the Community Chairman enjoined him to go into the new job with his well-known personal devotion to hard work, accountability and sincerity of purpose.
