The 11 newly appointed Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria will take their oaths of office and allegiance today, February 26, 2024.

The oath of office will be administered to the new justices by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, at the Main Courtroom of the Supreme Court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Recall that on December 21, the Senate confirmed the appointment of 11 Supreme Court justices appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fill the vacancies on the apex court bench.

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters had confirmed the nominees recommended by the National Judicial Council to fill the vacancies in the judiciary following the resignation and death of some justices.
