The Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has pleaded with Nigerians to anticipate positive outcomes from federal government’s various policy adjustments for improved infrastructure and a brighter future.
According to him, the “Renewed Hope” mantra of this present administration requires a bold agenda to address the root causes of the country’s national challenges and building a more prosperous, secure and equitable Nigeria.
Mustapha, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Agricultural Production Services and Rural Development, said this in his New Year Message to his constituents in Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The legislator acknowledged the difficulties many Nigerians experienced last year due to economic challenges and policy adjustments of the federal government.
He appealed to them not to give up hope on Nigeria as the Renewed Hope Mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration was meant to improve the standard of living of the people and minimally curb the endemic hunger and poverty in the land.
Amidst the difficulties, the Senator commended the ongoing efforts by both the Federal and State Governments to provide palliatives support for the less privileged.
He noted that the recent food palliative measures by the both tiers of government and 50% reduction in transport fares are commendable steps towards easing the strain on families, enabling many to celebrate with loved ones during the festive season.
“From our own end in the Kwara Central, we’ve also provided food palliative support for more than 10,000 individuals and families last year , especially our Christian brethren and party faithful. We’ve done this as a token of support for the efforts of both the federal and state governments to ameliorate the sufferings of the people in the state” he said.
The Senator therefore assured that the New Year would be better in terms of the social economic recovery of the country, thereby leading to improved livelihoods for the mass majority of Nigerians.
“The year 2024 dawns with a gleam of renewed hope. Let’s anticipate positive outcomes from policy adjustments, including improved infrastructure and a brighter future for all.
“Let us go into the new year united in purpose and unwavering in our goal to regain our place as a prosperous nation and a leader among nations,” Mustapha urged.
Meanwhile, Senator Mustapha has extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Vice-President Kashim Shettima; the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the leadership and members of the National Assembly.
Congratulates Kwarans
He also specially congratulated the Governor of Kwara State and the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and members of his team for a job well done in the year ended.
