New year: Nasarawa State Speaker Solicits More Support For Governor

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau has called for more support for Governor Abdullahi Sule, saying the state will achieve more development in 2024.

He said the House under his leadership would give Gov. Abdullahi Sule total cooperation and support as well as ensure effective synergy with other arms of government to achieve speedy growth and development of the state in 2024.

Jatau stated this in his New Year Message in his Ancestral home, Angiri Bassa, Kokona Local Government Area of the State.

The Speaker congratulated the people of the State and Nigerians for making it to the New Year and advised them to pray and give their maximum support to Gov. Sule and the government of the day at all levels to achieve growth and development.

 

He said; “On behalf of my family, my constituents, Principal Officers, Honourable Members, and staff of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, I wish all a happy and prosperous New Year.

“By God’s grace, the state will experience speedy development in 2024 and beyond as my leadership will give His Excellency, Governor Sule total cooperation and support to succeed.

” I want assure him of effective synergy to achieve speedy development in the state in 2024 and beyond.”

Speaker Jatau said that Gov. Sule has done well in almost all sectors of the economy.

“His Excellency has done well in education among other sectors of the economy. He has employed secondary school teachers, employed most of the casual staff in MDAs among other infrastructure,” he noted.

The Speaker also expressed optimism that Gov. Sule would construct the Bassa/Angiri road to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the area.

I have received many appeals from my constituents for the state government to construct the Bassa/Angiri road.

“We are all aware that His Excellency is a listening Governor and has the passion for the people of the state and by God’s grace, he will construct the road for my people,”he further stated

The Speaker also urged the people of the state to shun their political, religious, and ethnic differences to work toward a prosperous state.

“Let continue to use our diversities to promote unity and peace as it is when we live in unity and peace that there will be speedy development in the state,” Speaker Jatau said.

He appreciated the people of Kokona West constituency for voting him into the House.

Without their prayers, support, and votes, I would not be a member of the House and Speaker today, I appreciate them sincerely,” he said.

Speaker Jatau also urged the citizens of the state to be law-abiding, patriotic, and show love to one another for the overall development of the state.

Besides, he urged the people of the state to expect robust legislation that would promote peace and bring speedy development to the state.

The Speaker said; “I have honorable members that have the interest of the state at their hearts and we will work in unity to ensure that we pass bills and make resolutions that will have a direct bearing on the lives of our people.”

” We will ensure that the 2024 Appropriation is implemented accordingly for the overall development of the state.”

In a related development, the Speaker attended the New Year Sunday service at his Ancestral home, ECWA Church, Angiri, Kokona LGA where he urged the Christians and other Nigerians to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

He also urged them to continue to pray for other leaders as well as for the unity and peace of the state and the country at large.

The Speaker urged the youths and other Nigerians to shun negative acts and embrace good things at all times.

Also Speaking in the church, Musa Iyimoga, a former member Representing Doma North Constituency urged the people to appreciate God for creating human beings irrespective of their backgrounds.

He urged the people of the area and the state at large to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

The former lawmaker also drummed support for Gov. Sule and Speaker Jatau to succeed.

On his part Rev. Joshua Jatau, the Reverend in-charge of ECWA Church, Angiri Kokona LGA while presiding over the Service prayed for a peaceful 2024.

He urged Christians and other Nigerians to continue to do positive things by shunning evil acts at all times for the overall development of the society.

The Clergy also prayed for leaders as well as for the unity and peace of the state and the country at large.

After the church service, the Speaker Danladi Jatau played host to individuals and groups where he called on them to co-exist peacefully, pray, and support Gov. Sule to succeed.

He promised not to fail his people and the state while discharging his duties.

In another development, the Speaker has condoled with the Angiri community over the demise of one of its stakeholders, Peter Gabu.
