New Year: Oyo House of Assembly Felicitates Nigerians

The Oyo State House of Assembly has felicitated Nigerians on the New Year 2024.

The Assembly also congratulated all  members of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly beginning from the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Deputy Speaker, other Principal officers, management and staff, for witnessing the new year, 2024.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Waheed Akintayo (Ilumoka), who represents Oluyole State Constituency, the State Assembly said everyone should be thankful to God for the grace of another new year.

It says: “As we join continents, nations and states across the world to usher in the new year, the Oyo State House of Assembly wishes every Nigerian a Happy New Year. We are thankful to God for the grace to see the New Year and we want to urge us all to welcome 2024 with hope and faith. We must however be thankful for God’s infinite goodness and mercies throughout the past year.

“Let’s use this platform to congratulate the leadership and the entire members of the 10th Oyo State Assembly on the new year, 2024. We also say a happy and prosperous new year to the management and staff of the Assembly. Our prayer is that the new year will be full of countless blessings, economic prosperity and unlimited joy and happiness for all Nigerians. 

“As members of the State Assembly, we will do our best this new year to ensure the Executive and the Judiciary function effectively for the delivery of good and quality government,” the statement notes.

The statement further urged the people of Oyo State and other Nigerian to continue to work for the peace, progress, security, and development of the nation.

The new year should come with new hope and resolutions. To get the nation of our dream, we must all be ready to chaet new productive courses. Let us jettison evil ways and criminal activities in the new year. Let’s keep our hope alive, do our best, pray for our leaders and develop a never say die spirit,” the statement concludes.
