NFF Gets New Anti-Corruption, Transparency Unit

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), inaugurated the newly-appointed Members of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, MON, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with ICPC.

“We are happy with the collaboration and working with you because it has helped us in improving our processes and in keeping proper record of things, and also insisting that certain things must be done,” Dr. Sanusi said.

People must understand the work of ACTU; it is about ensuring that the right things are done to avoid investigations and perhaps, indictments. We are happy to have you in our midst and we are assuring you of our maximum cooperation.”

The Chairman of ICPC, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, extended his profound appreciation to the General Secretary of the NFF and the Management and Staff of the NFF for their invaluable support in facilitating the successful inauguration and induction of the ACTU.

This milestone event signifies a critical step in equipping the newly-appointed ACTU members with the necessary foundation to effectively carry out their responsibilities,” he stated.

“Aligning with the Federation’s vision is to build a sustainable football culture in Nigeria and place the nation as one of the footballing giants in both the continent and the global sphere.”

Dr. Aliyu congratulated the new NFF-ACTU executive team and encouraged them to discharge their duties with utmost diligence, integrity, and professionalism.

I would like to congratulate the new members on being found worthy of this critical responsibility,” he said. “I encourage you to discharge your duties with utmost diligence, integrity and professionalism.”

“Refrain from any actions that could compromise your position on the strategic role entrusted to you. I reiterate my gratitude to the management for their commitment to making this event a reality.”

The newly appointed ACTU Chairperson, Barr. Queen Otarakpo, expressed her gratitude to the NFF General Secretary.

“We appreciate you for everything and by the grace of God we will not disappoint you,” she said. “I want to acknowledge the outgoing chairman and his members; they set the mark in the path we are embarking on today.”

“They have worked tirelessly in the past three years. Please permit me to appreciate you all for this foundation you have laid. I want to assure you of our commitment as we are going to be diligent in discharging our duties.”

“And also be responsible in our work. We crave for the continued support of the General Secretary and the Management. Be assured that we will do our best in making sure everything goes well,” she added.

The newly appointed ACTU Members are: Queen Otarakpo Esq (Chairman); Abdulrasheed Usman (Member); Yakubu Abdumalik (Member); Ann Okoro (Member); Amina Daura (Member); Tasiu Riskuwa Shehu (Member) and; Ahmed Yusuf (Member).

Present during the inauguration were staff of ICPC and NFF, including Olusegun Adigun; Mrs Nkem Ezenwa; Danladi Danjuma; Abdurahman Maigari; Ruth David (NFF’s Director of Competitions), Rajan Zaka (Director of Finance & Administration).

Also, Kut Kut Fon (Ag. Director, Administration); Barnabas Joro (Head of Protocol); Sunday Iduh; Coach Abdulrafiu Yusuf and;Faith Ben-Anuge.
