The Women Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) says its ‘She Can With ICT’ programme will provide 5,000 women with cutting-edge technology skills to help them grow their enterprises.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Oreoluwa Lesi, said this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

She said that in an ever-evolving digital world, the need for technological skills was paramount, especially for entrepreneurs aiming to stand out and thrive.

Lesi noted that the centre would be training female entrepreneurs in the fashion and beauty industry on how to use technology to elevate their businesses.

According to her, the initiative is designed to improve the productivity and profitability of women-owned businesses, by equipping them with in-depth practical digital technology skills and tools to catalyse their entrepreneurial growth.

She noted that the tech skills were necessary in an increasingly technology-driven business environment.

Lesi said the programme was more than just a training, but a movement to bridge the gender gap in technology and entrepreneurship.

“For the 2024 to 2025 cycle of the programme, we understand that women in fashion and beauty often face unique challenges, and we are here to provide the tools, resources and support needed to overcome these hurdles.

“Our free four-week virtual programme is a comprehensive journey into the world of digital technology.

“They will learn the latest in digital marketing, social media strategies, e-commerce, and more to enhance their online presence and drive sales.

“There will also be seed funding opportunities, which will allow these entrepreneurs to gain access to potential funding to kickstart or expand their business.

“We believe in their vision and are here to help them bring it to life,” she said.

Lesi said that upon completion, the entrepreneurs would receive a certification that validates their new skills and knowledge, giving them a competitive edge in the market.
