The bear dominated transactions on equities in mid-week trade on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group Limited (NGX), as investors lost additional N8 billion.
The negative sentiment at the Exchange led to further decline on the All-Share Index of listed equities by 16.13 absolute points, representing a 0.03 percent drop to close at 52,974.15 lower than Tuesday’s 52,990.24.
Similarly, the market capitalisation depreciated by more than N8 billion to close at N28.558 trillion as against the N28.567 trillion of the previous day.
The day’s trading session ended with 295.35 million units of shares that exchanged hands in 4,637 deals.
The market sentiment was negative with 20 losers and 14 gainers.
Eterna led the gainers list with 9.90 percent gain on its share price to close at N7.44k. FTN Cocoa Processors followed with a 9.38 percent to close at N0.36k while NAHCO had an 8.51 percent gain on its share price to close N7.22k.
Okomu oil led the losers’ chart with a 10 percent loss on its share price to close at N193.50k. NCR followed with a 9.77 percent loss to close at N3.60k then Conoil lost 8.36 percent on its share price to close at N29.10k.
