NGX: Market capitalisation appreciates by N2bn

It was another day of gain on the equities market of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday as equities trading closed in the positive.
The market capitalisation rose by N2 billion to close at N35,844 trillion from N35, 842 trillion recorded on Tuesday while the all-share index appreciated by 0.01% to close at 65,492.92 points as against 65,488.67 points the previous day.
But the market sentiment remained in the negative territory as trading closed with 22 gainers relative to 27 losers.
Top on the gainers list for the day was Associated Bus Company with 9.62% price appreciation and a closing price of N0.57k. After it was Thomas Wyatt Nigeria with 9.3% price gain and a closing price of N1.41k then Transcorp Hotels gained 8.99% to close at N40.00.
On the losing side were Conoil with 10% loss and a closing price of N99.00k, followed by Daar Communications which lost 9.38% to close at N0.29k just as Red Star Express lost 8.75% to close at N2.92k
Transcorp Nigeria recorded the highest volume of 145 million traded shares and was followed by Universal Insurance Company with 27.5 million shares.
At the end of the day’s trading, a total of 348.3 million shares worth N4.05 billion were traded in 6,237 deals.
