The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Adaora Akojume of Beta Agric Ventures for emerging as the top pitcher at the 8th Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS).
Akojume secured a remarkable ₦250 million investment offer during the event, which took place in Abuja, Nigeria.
In a statement issued by Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of the Commission, Dr Dabiri-Erewa described the summit as a powerful demonstration of how the Nigerian diaspora continues to drive economic development and contribute to nation-building.

She noted that the NDIS platform has consistently shown how Nigerians abroad and at home can collaborate to create jobs, stimulate innovation, generate investable ideas, and strengthen mutual trust.
A major highlight of the summit was the agribusiness pitching session, which focused on innovative value chains, food security, and export-oriented models.
Moderated by Dr Moji Davids of Xtralarge Farms and Luxury Resorts, the session took a compelling turn when Akojume presented her tomato paste model.

Her structured and innovative pitch captivated investors, culminating in a ₦250 million investment offer from Mr Christopher Obode, a New Jersey-based investor.
Dr Davids praised Akojume as an agripreneur “embodying the lifeline of the economy” and reiterated the importance of prioritising food security.
Akojume’s presentation also attracted additional interest from investors who pledged to adopt her product as a test case in future local and international summits.
Dr Dabiri-Erewa noted that over the years, the Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit has distinguished itself as a results-oriented platform, fostering practical business partnerships and matchmaking opportunities rather than mere discussions.
She underscored that participants, investors, and sponsors continue to showcase tangible outcomes that support economic growth and shared prosperity.
The 8th edition recorded impressive participation, featuring over 50 pitchers, more than 15 sponsors and exhibitors, about 900 in-person attendees, and over 2,000 virtual participants from across the world.
