The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, Americas (NiDOA), has called for stronger collaboration between Nigerians at home and abroad to promote sustainable development in the country.
The Continental Chair of NiDOA, Dr. Victor Ubani, made the call in Abuja while reacting to the recent public exchange between the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and a social media user, an incident that generated mixed reactions on the “X” platform.
According to Dr. Ubani, unity and collective efforts are strong elements towards building a more prosperous Nigeria’s Nigeria.
“Let us continue to forge ahead and form a new path toward rebranding Nigeria and taking our beloved country to greater heights. We can do that by being patriotic and working closely together to boost national growth,” he said.
Dr. Ubani further stressed that there was a need for all Nigerians to pursue peaceful resolutions to issues that threatened ethnic harmony and Nigeria’s international reputation.
“The growing clamour for sanctions underscores the fear that unchecked bigotry could deepen divisions in an already polarised country like ours,” he warned.
Ubani also appealed to aggrieved Nigerians to look beyond recent events and focus on promoting Nigeria’s global image in a positive light, as a step toward achieving meaningful progress.
“I call on everyone to work closely together so that we can fully realise the set goals for our country. Let us come together as Nigerians to move our country forward”, he added
