NIGCOMSAT, Ondo State Partner on Space-Tech Hackathon, VSAT Training

The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the Ondo State government have partnered to launch the Space-Tech Hackathon and VSAT training initiative.

NIGCOMSAT Managing Director, Jane Egerton-Idehen, led a delegation to meet Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the Ondo State Lodge in Abuja. The meeting focused on equipping young people with digital and satellite technology skills to drive innovation and economic growth.

Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation to NIGCOMSAT for selecting Ondo State as the Southwest regional hub for the programme. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to fostering technology-driven youth empowerment and digital transformation.

Scheduled for April 28–May 2, 2025, the training aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance technological expertise, and create job opportunities.

This collaboration highlights a shared vision of leveraging satellite technology and innovation to promote socio-economic development. By strengthening public-private partnerships, the programme seeks to position Ondo State as a leader in digital transformation and technological advancement in Nigeria.
