Niger State Cricket Introduces Sport To Police Children’s School

The Niger State Cricket Association has introduced the sport of cricket to the Police Children’s School (PCS) in Minna, Niger State, North Central Nigeria.
The Chairman of the Niger State Cricket Association, Isaiah Fred, presented cricket kits and introduced the game to the students at the school. He mentioned that the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), in collaboration with the Niger State Cricket Association, will implement the Naija Kid’s grassroots development program in schools across the state.
The aim is to cultivate an interest in cricket amongst the youth. According to Fred, the cricket kits were donated by the NCF to enhance the training of the school children, preparing them to participate in cricket competitions throughout the state.
During the event, the Chairman and his team expressed their gratitude to the Headmistress, Hajiya Aisha Legbo, for her cooperation throughout the exercise. The program is scheduled to run from July 3rd – 10th, 2023.
In her response, Legbo on behalf of the school, expressed her appreciation to the NCF and Niger State Cricket Association for their support in promoting sports. She assured them that the school is fully prepared to participate in cricket and contribute to the advancement of sports in the state.
She also urged the school’s sports teachers to use the donated kits wisely.
The highlights of the event included an exhibition of the game by senior players and the presentation of cricket kits to the school’s Headmistress, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
