The Governor of Niger State in North Central Nigeria, Abubakar Sani Bello has expressed concern over the incessant banditry activities and other forms of crimes in parts of the state.
The Governor said state government was not unaware of the hardship posed as a result of the insecurity in the affected areas.
He commended the successes recorded so far by the security agencies on their tireless efforts in bringing an end to the menace.
Governor Bello was speaking in Minna,the State capital while briefing newsmen after an expanded security meeting to review strategy and measures in addressing security concerns.
“With the renewed strategy evolved, the insecurity situation in the state will be surmounted in no distant time, and by the grace of God with the efforts being applied at the moment, we shall over come most of these challenges soon,” Governor Bello stated.
The Governor also expressed optimism of positive outcome in the fight against banditry and other forms of insecurity confronting some communities.
He re-assured the citizenry that no stone would be left unturned in addressing the situation as both the government, security agencies and relevant stakeholders were all contributing towards seeing an end to the security challenges.
Heads of Security chiefs in the state, the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, the state Chief Judge, Local Government Chairmen, Traditional and Religious Leaders as well as other stakeholders were present at the expanded security meeting.
