The Niger state Commissioner for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Mrs Elizabeth Shaba has pledged to make MSMEs in the state a goldmine for the economy.
Speaking during her resumption of office in Minna, the Commissioner said that the Ministry has the ability to improve on the economy of the state as MSMEs are the lifewire of the economy.
According to her, all hands need to be on deck stating that she intends to take action to ensure that businesses that have crippled in the state are revived.
“We must not leave the ministry the way we met it. We will make maximum use of what we have and ensure that the ministry becomes a goldmine of Niger state economy.”
Shaba explained that the Ministry was formerly an Agency but due to its viability to the economy of the state, the Governor decided to upgrade it to a Ministry.
She called on staff of the ministry to be diligent in discharging their duties, so as to actualise the hopes and expectations of the government.
The Permanent Secretary overseeing the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr Joseph Kolo who welcomed the Commissioner said that the mandate of improving MSMEs in the state which was being implemented before would be incorporated into the mandate of the new Ministry.
The Staff assured the Commissioner of their maximum support and their willingness to move the ministry forward adding that they would work together and offer the necessary guidance.
