The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board in North Central Nigeria says it is refunding the 2021 Hajj fare deposits after the cancellation of the exercise for international pilgrims by Saudi Arabia authorities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Umar Makun Sidi, stated this through the agency’s Spokesperson, Mallam Hassan Idris on Friday.
He said intending pilgrims seeking for refund of their hajj deposits to forward their hand written application to the Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers APWOs, on or before 13th July 2021.
About 1060 intending pilgrims registered for the 2021 hajj exercise, which was limited to only residents in the kingdom by the Saudi Arabian authorities due to the global pandemic.
The Executive Secretary however reiterated that the agency will not register any pilgrim for Hajj until the rollover of pilgrims of 2020 and 2021 have been concluded.
“Those seeking to roll over their deposits with the board are to be a priority in the 2022 hajj exercise,” added Makun Sidi.
