The Niger state government in North central Nigeria, has secured the released of 52 passengers kidnapped by bandits recently in the state.
The released victims arrived Minna government house around 11:15 pm on Sunday, in four 16 seater buses .
While welcoming the released victims, the Governor of Niger State , Abubakar Sani Bello, mentioned that the state government went through a week of dialogue, consultations and sleepless nights to secure the release of the victims within the shortest possible times.
“As you can see they are all seated here 52 in number, malnourished and tired, but at the end of the day we are grateful to God Almighty for guiding us protecting them and showing us the way to secure their released”.
He further said the state government has made all necessary arrangement to ensure that the victims go through a medical therapy and evaluation before handing over to their loved ones.
“We thank their loved ones for their understanding in this trying moment.
The Governor who appreciated all stakeholders involved in securing the release of the victims alive and safely, said everything is being done to ensure the release of the 27 abducted students and members of the school community soonest.
