The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has urged Nigerians to pray for the Armed Forces personnel for paying the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the nation.
Governor Sani Bello disclosed this at the Special Jumma’at Prayer to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the Jumma’at Mosque Military Cantonment, Minna the Niger State capital.
The Governor who was represented by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane stressed that the sacrifices by the Military must be appreciated by all and sundry, especially the gallant efforts in tackling security challenges in the country.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Jumma’at Mosque, Military Cantonment, Minna, Colonel Musa Buhari called on the Muslims to always have the fear of God in whatever they do.
The Chief Imam urged Muslims to always support their leaders with prayers now more than ever before as well as uphold the tenets of Islam at all times.
Col. Buhari prayed for the repose soul of the fallen heroes and the Almighty Allah to grant their families the much-needed strength and comfort to bear the irreparable loss.
Families of Officers and Soldiers in the Military cantonment along with other civilians attended the special Jumaat service marking the Nigerian Armed Forces remembrance day.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a public holiday in Nigeria observed on 15 January to commemorate the servicemen of the Armed Forces.
