Nigeria @ 64: Former Lawmaker calls for unity

As Nigeria Marks her 64th Independence Anniversary, a former lawmaker and Member of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Mr. Sam Onuigbo, has called for individual and collective efforts by Nigerians to take the country to its deserved destination.

He made the call in a press statement in Abuja the nation’s capital pointing out that the nation has come a long way and achieved remarkable milestones that require consolidation.

Individually and collectively, Nigeria is moving, we must make required individual and collective sacrifices for Nigeria to get to its destination,” he said.

Mr. Onuigbo also noted that Nigeria’s Democracy has remained uninterrupted and continued to grow since the present dispensation which started in 1999.

The Former Lawmaker who also reaffirmed his support for a better Nigeria emphasized that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s government has shown the needed resolve to turn things around for good.

The NEDC Member also used the opportunity to salute many Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora who are breaking new ground in different frontiers and reminded them of the need to remain the country’s Ambassadors.

According to the former federal lawmaker, October first of every year comes with nostalgic feelings for him as it is coincidentally his birthday.
