Nigeria at 60: Governor Nwifuru Extols President Tinubu For Selfless Service 

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Honourable Francis Nwifuru, has extolled Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu for the courage he took by removing fuel subsidy on the inception of the Present Administration.

Governor Nwifuru made this Commendation during a Media chat with Journalists in Ebonyi state, as part of the activities marking Nigeria’s 63rd Independence and Ebonyi State 27^th anniversary.

Nwifuru said President Tinubu means well for Nigerians by removing the subsidy.

“This fuel Subsidy was never for the benefit of poor man. It was for the benefit of the top rich men in the Society. President Tinubu doesn’t want to enjoy himself in a selfish way, rather, he wants the whole Nigerians to enjoy. If it was because of making money that brought him onto leadership, he wouldn’t have thought of removing the subsidy because he stands in a chance to benefit more,” Nwifuru stated.

Also, during the media Chat, the Governor promised to build Teachers’ Quarters to cushion the accommodation suffering experienced by Teachers in the state.

“Our administration will make teaching profession to be lucrative,” he said.

Governor Nwifuru appreciated the people of Ebonyi for believing in his administration’s agenda –The People’s Charter of Needs.

“May I importantly note that today’s event portrays our commitment to the tenets of democracy transparency, dedication, stewardship, freedom of information and respect for the rights of our people. Significantly, this is coming few hours before Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary and the 27th Anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State –our first celebration of this momentous occasion as Government.”

“As Government, we understand that our eyes must be beamed in securing the future of our children, but as well, satisfying your immediate needs. Within these months in office, we have found a balance between these two important levels. May I cease this opportunity to appreciate the great support of Ebonyi people so far. You have continued to lend in your voices when we call on you. You have collaborated with us to serve you better. We request that you continue in this light because Government cannot do it alone. We count on your prayers, ingenuity, advice, constructive criticisms, and patience at all times”

“Let me equally appreciate our stakeholders, traditional fathers, religious men and women for their guidance and steady encouragement in these past few months. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that together, we deliver good dividends of democracy to our people and take Ebonyi to the success stage”

He promised to make the people proud by bequeathing peace and success in Ebonyi state.
