The National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Nigeria, Mr. Julius Abure, believes that a “New Nigeria” is still possible, if the leaders would put the nation first.
The national chairman of the Labour Party said this in a press statement made available to journalists while felicitating Nigerians on the nation’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary to be marked on the 1st of October.
Abure decried the rather slow pace of Nigeria since independence:
“Nigeria can still rise to attain greatness, if our generation can muster the courage to speak with one voice in condemnation of the evil that has kept the nation under perpetual bondage.
“I believe that a new Nigeria is still possible and foresee a total and imminent emancipation of Nigeria from the clutches of darkness.
“Leadership is all about service and making life better for the people, but today what we see is leaders who are interested in piling fortunes while the majority of the populace are left to wallow in abject poverty.”
