Nigeria Beach Soccer League Season 5 Kicks Off
The 5th season of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League opens with fireworks as the Kebbi Fishers BSC host the 1st Round of the competition to mark its 10-years anniversary.
Winners of the NBSL 3 times in the previous 4 seasons, Kebbi Fishers BSC, are the defending champions of Nigeria Beach Soccer League. It could not have been a better time, as the Fishers’ decade anniversary coincides with the Ramadan Sallah celebrations in all of Kebbi State.
The President of Africa Beach Soccer Union (ABSU) and coordinator of Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL), Mahmud Hadejia, shared a few words about this season’s competition.

“The Nigeria Beach Soccer League going into the fifth season is starting in Kebb, during the Sallah festivities, starting from the 31st of March up until the 3rd of April,” Hadejia said on Talking Sports, Voice of Nigeria’s weekly premium sports show.
“And, if you’ve been following the Beach Soccer League, you’ll know that Kebbi traditionally hosts the Beach Soccer National Championship during the Sallah festivities and it’s always packed. Clubs have registered and we’re expecting new clubs for this season.”
“Also, Smart City and Jigawa Golden Stars BSC are also returning and it’s looking very-very exciting. I keep telling people that this is the best-run beach soccer league in Africa.”
“The whole of the African continent will be watching and be following what would be going on in Kebbi for the first round. So, we call on our viewers to tune in to our social media platforms on Facebook and on YouTube as well to follow Live feeds from the venue.”
At the media virtual parley, head of NBSL Media Department, Nasir Auwal, informed the house about efforts aimed at improving previous season’s successes like live-streaming games on multiple platforms with different camera angles, amongst others.
Commentators with detailed data and statistics to guide the broadcast during games were also suggested.
