Nigeria Condemns Deadly Bondi Beach Shooting In Australia

The Nigerian Government has condemned the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, which targeted members of the Jewish community and left at least fifteen people dead, with several others injured.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Nigeria extended its condolences to the Government and people of Australia, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The Government described the attack as “a senseless act of violence and expressed solidarity with all those affected.”

Nigeria’s stance that terrorism, violent extremism and hate-motivated attacks pose serious global threats, and called for stronger international cooperation to combat terrorism, anti-Semitism and all forms of violent hatred,” the statement reads.

The Government reaffirmed its commitment to global peace and security, stressing that no community should be targeted on the basis of religion, ethnicity or identity, and pledged continued support for international efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
