The Nigerian Government has congratulated Namibia for electing Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, as the first female President.
Nandi-Ndaitwah, currently serving as Vice President, achieved a historic victory in an election confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Namibia.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Acting Spokesperson to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
Her win extends the dominance of the ruling SWAPO party, which has been in power since the country’s independence.
According to the statement, “Nigeria hailed the Namibian electorate for choosing stability, expressing readiness to further deepen the longstanding relationship between the two nations during Nandi-Ndaitwah’s tenure.
“Nigeria is ready to collaborate with Namibia for the mutual benefit of their citizens.”
