The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar says Nigeria and the European Union, EU, need to work deeply on security and defence collaboration and relationship.
He stated this when the Director of Peace Partnership and Crisis Management Department of the European External Action Service in Brussels, Mr. Casmin Dirban, paid him a courtesy visit in Ship House, Abuja.
The meeting centered on the improvement of cooperation on security to fight terrorism and banditry, with Badaru calling for a deliberate effort to explore more areas of collaboration with Nigeria on defence and security matters.
Earlier, Mr. Casmin Dirban was accompanied by the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ambassador Gautier Mignot.
He noted the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and expressed a desire for stronger relations.
