Some stakeholders say Nigeria has witnessed improvement in the economy, security and several other sectors under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking to Voice of Nigeria at the end of a special parade held at the foyer of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in commemoration of the 64th Independence Anniversary, they said that the nation is on the right track towards achieving greatness.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, noted that things will get better especially in the electricity sector.
Adelabu said; “Let me first of all give all praises to almighty God that has made all of us witness the 64th Independence Day anniversary of our dear country. We should rejoice and hope that things are going to get better for Nigeria.
“It can only get better for us. We have seen the worst and I believe that with President Tinubu, we are on the right track and Nigerians will continue to see the dividends of democracy as promised by the President.”
“In his broadcast to the nation today, the President first of all acknowledged that there are challenges and we are doing everything possible to make sure that the problem is resolved.
“We are seeing results in the fiscal and monetary policies of the government and other areas, especially electricity improvement in Nigeria. We are not resting on our oars as this will serve as an inspiration for us to do more. The President is just one year and three months old in office and we believe that we are on the right track and there will be light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
Economic Policies
Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu said the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu are already yielding results.
Audu said; “Like the President said in his speech this morning, the removal of petroleum subsidy as well as the liberalization of the FX regime has led to inflationary pressure on prices of food items but several measures are being put in place and we are starting to see the result of that.”
“There is a massive amount of land that is being used for the cultivation of crops which will ultimately reduce food prices and there are several measures being taken to improve the economy as the President alluded to,” the Minister stated.
On the place of Nigeria in Africa, Audu said Nigeria is a pacesetter and it’s leading development of Africa as a continent.
“On the development of Africa, I think the continent is on the right track being led by Nigeria. Nigeria is the largest country in Africa in terms of population and in the last decade, it has spent most of the time as the leading economy on the continent. So, Nigeria will provide the queue for the rest of Africa to follow,” Audu emphasised.
