Nigeria’s senior women’s cricket team, the Female Yellow Greens, lost by 6 runs to Zimbabwe HPC in their first game at the ongoing 11th Kwibuka Women’s T20i tournament taking place in Kigali, Rwanda.
Nigeria won the toss and opted to field first at the Gahanga B Cricket oval in Kigali on Tuesday.
The team limited the Zimbabwe side to 98 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Zimbabwe chased the score to 104 runs for eight wickets, also in 20 overs. They won by six runs.
Nigeria will now take on Brazil on Wednesday in the nine-nation tournament.
The annual tournament is in remembrance of the 1994 genocide at the Tutsis in Rwanda.
