The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of Nigerian Standard Passport fees, effective from September 1, 2025.
The review, which applies only to applications made within Nigeria, sets new thresholds of N100,000 for a 32-page passport with five-year validity, and N200,000 for a 64-page passport with ten-year validity.
However, passport application fees for Nigerians abroad remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport with five-year validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with ten-year validity.
According to the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the adjustment was introduced to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport, which is globally recognised as a secure travel document.
“The Service remains committed to ensuring that Nigerians continue to access passports that meet international standards while strengthening measures that protect the integrity of our national identity,” Akinlabi stated.
He added that the Service will continue to balance improved service delivery with accessibility, ensuring that passport services remain efficient and reliable for all Nigerians.
