The Nigerian National Population Commission has officially launched the 2023 Population and Housing Census Call Centre at it’s Situation Room in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Commission, Mr Isa Kwarra said; “the launch of the integrated call centre for the 2023 Census is another major step towards making it successful.”

The Call centre is a resounding success and underscores the commitment of providing demographic data for national planning in Nigeria.

The United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, Country Representative Ms Ulla Mueller commended the process saying; “the 2023 Census is the first fully digital census to be conducted in Nigeria.”

Mueller said it would need the use of technology and methodological innovations to ensure collection of high quality and timely data.

She also said that; “The Census agenda is embedded in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs and the national development vision, which emphasise the generation of evidence pertaining to individual circumstances in order to Leave No One Behind, as emphasised by the UNFPA programme strategy.”
