Nigeria Launches Free AI Academy for Youth
To provide Nigerian youth with AI skills, the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat and Intel Corporation, has established a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) academy.
Through the National Orientation Agency, the ministry announced that the academy will give recipients free access to self-paced courses on AI ethics, foundations, tools, and practical applications.
Participants will also be able to apply for internships and AI ambassadorial positions with Intel Corporation, which will give them practical experience with AI around the world.
It said, “The programme aims to prepare Nigerian youths for future jobs and leadership roles in the digital economy, empowering them with AI skills, enhancing their competitiveness in the global job market, and also driving innovation in the country.”
This program demonstrates the government’s dedication to using technology to boost economic expansion, enhance people’s lives, and open doors for young Nigerians.
Nigeria is prepared to rank among the top African nations in artificial intelligence, according to Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
He stated, “We are one of the few countries investing in talents, AI, and computers, which most African countries are not doing.”
Application closes January ending.
