Nigeria Must Win Match Against Cape Verde -Musa
Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa has said today’s tie with the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos is a must win for Nigeria.
He spoke at the pre-match conference in Lagos on Monday, where he said;“Everyone want to be in the tournament (World Cup) so we have to go all out against them throughout the 90 minutes,” the 29-year-old Musa explained.
“We must have a potential goal in the first half and then finish the game in the second half and qualify for the next round.”
Speaking further, the former Leicester City’ striker said the Super Eagles are not oblivious of the task even as he admitted the huge pressure of playing in front of the home fans.
“Whenever you are at home, you are always under pressure, so we are under pressure to deliver, “ he admitted. “But the pressure is not going to affect us because we know the quality in our team; we won’t allow the pressure to affect us.
It is football and we just have to concentrate for the duration of the game,” he said.
Musa adds that no matter how they score the goal, all they need is the three points, which was what they achieved against Liberia.
