Nigeria Olympic Committee Receives Report On Constitution Review

The Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, has received a report of its Constitution Review Committee, and report of a review of the Refurbishment of Sports Infrastructure at the Amuwo Odofin Olympic Sports Village.

Presenting the report of the Constitution Review, Chairman of the committee, Sani Hussaini Garun Gabbas, said the committee worked according to the terms of reference towards ensuring that the views of the stakeholders are encapsulated in the report in line with the ideals of the Olympic movement.

Also presenting its report to the NOC officials at the Secretariat of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa ANOCA, in Abuja, the chairman of the Refurbishment of the Sports Infrastructure, Jonathan Nnaji said after rigorous exercise, two companies were selected for the rehabilitation of the Sports Centre in Lagos.

Receiving the reports, NOC President, Mr. Habu Gumel, expressed gratitude to the committee members and assured sports stakeholders that the NOC will ensure full implementation of the reports.

It would be recalled that the six-man constitution review committee was inaugurated last February with a mandate to midwife the review and alterations of the provisions of the National Olympic body’s constitution.

The newly re-developed NOC infrastructures included the Amuwo Odofin Olympic Village, where some sporting facilities such as football pitch, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and other indoor and outdoor sports can be staged.
