Nigeria is seeking collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with the China National Building Materials Corporation CNBM, to strengthen its Evergreen City projects.
The CNBM is a  parent company of Sinoma International Engineering Company valued at over $100bn and rated as the world’s topmost producer of fiber glass, gypsum board, wind blade technology, and other critical materials.
Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, Ajuri Ngelale made these known to State House Correspondents after his closed door meeting held on thursday in Beijing, China, with the CNBM delegation led by the Executive General Manager, Mr. Li Xinhua and the Chairman of the Sinoma International Engineering Company, Mr. Yin Zhisong.
The Envoy on Climate Action said the prospective partnership requires structured and effective follow-up to ensure that necessary steps are timely achieved.
Updating Nigerians on the activities of the Committee overseeing the nation’s Evergreen projects, Ngelale said the Committee was briefed on the composition and production process of new cutting edge technologies produced by CNBM with an overview of their decades-long development process across service lines.
He added that the team witnessed a dynamic display of  demonstration of CNBM’s emssions control infrastructure with real-time line observation into all factory areas in dozens of CNBM manufacturing facilities across the globe.
Arriving back in Beijing early in the morning after a pre-dawn plane trip and bullet train ride from Fuzhou, Thursday was a day of frenetic activity that began with a tour of the Headquarters of the China National Building Materials Corporation (CNBM) by a delegation led by CNBM Group Executive General Manager, Mr. Li Xinhua in the company of the Chairman of Sinoma International Engineering Company, Mr. Yin Zhisong.
Our team was briefed on the composition and production process of new technologies being produced by CNBM with a historic overview of their decades-long development process across service lines. Additionally, we witnessed a demonstration of CNBM’s cutting-edge emssions control infrastructure with real-time line of sight into all factory areas in dozens of CNBM manufacturing facilities across the globe with a dynamic display of constantly changing emissions values from the entities”.

Ngelale noted the Chinese firm’s commitment to accountable decarbonization saying it provides clear pathway to enhanced operational efficiency.

The company’s commitment to decarbonization was inspiring in its accountability but more impressive in that it equally provides a fresh and articulated pathway to enhanced operational efficiency. A significant initial investment by CNBM to modify industrial process has now become a net-positive source of long-term savings, increased revenues, and ecological sustainability.

“After the briefing, we entered into closed-door discussion – concerning areas of mutual interest with respect to Evergreen City – which extended beyond the time limit. This prospective collaboration requires structured and effective follow-up. Our team will not fail to ensure that the next steps are achieved in a timely and meticulous fashion”.

The Climate Action Coordinator for Nigeria pledged the teams’ commitment to meticulously achieve set goals for successive steps in firmly establishing a productive and vibrant Evergreen City for Nigerians.
