Nigeria Pledges to Tackle Water Needs, Boost Irrigation
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utsev, says the Nigerian Government is determined to address the water needs of its citizens and enhance food production through irrigated agriculture.
Reflecting on the past year, Prof. Utsev said Nigeria witnessed significant progress in its mission to ensure access to safe water, improved sanitation, and sustainable management of water resources nationwide.
According to him “these milestones have been achieved through the unwavering dedication of our Management team, stakeholders, partners, and the resilient spirit of Nigerians, all united by the shared goal of improving the quality of life in our communities.”
Professor Utsev said that his Ministry’s commitment to advancing water security and sanitation access as essential pillars of national development remained a top priority.
He said; “We are determined to address challenges in the sector with innovative solutions, stronger partnerships, and a renewed focus on serving our communities effectively.
“Water is life, and sanitation is dignity. Together, we can build a future where every Nigerian has access to these basic human rights.”
The Minister urged all Nigerians to join hands with the government in building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for our nation.
“Let us work together with determination, unity, and a shared sense of purpose,” he added.
