The Nigeria Police Command has asked five freed inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) to take the lead in the crusade to effect a new social order by shunning negative indulgences.
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State, SP Ihunwo Josephine, collaborated the views of the Divisional Police Officer, Central Police Station, Awka, Veena Leha, during a visit to the State NCS, Amawbia, Anambra State.
They encouraged the five freed inmates, Chekwube Ogbuagu, Izuchukwu Nwosu, Izundu Uche Ebuka Afuba and Chigozie Nkiki to integrate into the society with a positive mindset.
“Reflect on why you were brought here and vow not to come back. Your stay in Prison can change your life for good, so try and learn something to be productive and free from crime”
A Non-Governmental Organisation, ABU Foundation, led by Chief Mmaduaburochukwu Attah, who facilitated the visit and perfected the bail of the inmates, pledged to further empower them for their economic sustainability.
He added that the gesture which had spanned for over six years was to show love to the inmates in tune with his passion to touch the lives of the less privileged.
