Nigeria Police Trust Fund, NALDA Partner To Strengthen Food Security

The Nigeria Police Trust Fund and the National Agricultural Land Development Agency have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a view to enhance food security across the country.

The event took place in Abuja on Wednesday with the Chief Executive officers penning their signatures to the agreement.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mohammed Sheidu, the collaboration with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) promised to be highly impactful.

Sheidu further said that “the details bothers mostly on the security facilities of NALDA Mega Farm Estate and Joint Agricultural Project Execution which will enable NPTF acquire land for agricultural purposes for Police Officers, Spouses, Youths and Retirees of the NPF and Auxiliary Staff.”

This landmark agreement marks a significant milestone in our collaborative efforts to enhance security and promote agricultural development in our great nation. The MoU outlines the framework for our partnership, which will focus on the security facilities of NALDA’s Mega Farm Estate and the joint execution of agricultural projects.

Furthermore, this partnership will enable NPTF align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Food Security, poverty eradication, economic growth, job creation, access to capital, improving security of life and property, rule of law and fight against corruption,” he explained.

As the two agencies signed the agreement, they reaffirmed their commitment to working together to address the complex challenges facing the nation.

Sheidu said; “We recognise that security and agriculture are intertwined, and that our collective efforts can have a transformative impact on the lives of Nigerians. I am confident that our collaboration will yield positive results and contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation.We will engage in regular consultations, share knowledge and expertise, and collaborate on joint projects that promote our shared objectives.”

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of NALDA, Mr Cornelius Adebayo reiterated the agency’s commitment towards ensuring that Food Security is giving priority attention.

Adebayo said a convergence of security and food production would surely add value to the nation food production.

In attendance at the event were officials from both the NPTF and the NALDA.
