The Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Moh’d Maigidansama has confirmed Nigeria’s qualification for the quarterfinals of the 24th Africa Senior Women Handball Cup of Nations.
Having lost to DR Congo and hosts Cameroon, Nigeria on Saturday defeated Kenya 26-21 to qualify from Group B as one of the best two teams to place third.
Nigeria will play Cameroon in another thrilling encounter for a place in the semi-finals.
The other team to qualify as third best team is Guinea, which qualified from Group A, behind Tunisia and SenegalHowever, only two teams, defending Champions Angola & Congo Brazzaville made it out from Group C, to complete the quarter-final pairings.

The other 3 quarterfinals fixtures are all to be played on Tuesday, as/well and as shown below.
Meanwhile, all four quarter-final winners will in addition to advañcing to the Semifinals, qualify automatically for the International Handball Federstion World Cup, to be staged in Spain.
