President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering critical infrastructure to the Nigerian people under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President made the remarks in Abuja on Friday, 27 June 2025, during the commissioning of a newly constructed 10-kilometre access road linking the Kabusa and Ketti Districts in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, President Tinubu described the road project as transformational, saying it would improve mobility, enhance access to education and healthcare, and help integrate rural communities into the nation’s development efforts.

“This project aligns squarely with the Renewed Hope Agenda of my administration, which places people at the centre of governance. We believe that good governance is not theory, it is action, reflected in the daily lives of the people,” the President said.

He reiterated his government’s commitment to providing essential infrastructure—roads, schools, hospitals, power, and digital access—not only in urban areas but also in the smaller, often overlooked communities that form the backbone of Nigeria.

“While the 10km road may appear modest to some, for the people of Kabusa, Ketti, and the surrounding communities, it is truly transformational,” he stated.

President Tinubu urged residents to maintain and utilise the road responsibly for long-term sustainability, assuring them of continued government investment.

“This is not the end of the road, but it is the beginning. More projects will come, investments will reach you, and attention will be given to your needs, for every Nigerian deserves development no matter where they live,” he added.

The President also commended the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, and the project contractors for delivering the road on time and to specification, while praising AMAC leadership for prioritising the initiative.

FCT Minister Commends Community Support

Earlier in his remarks, FCT Minister Mr Nyesom Wike thanked President Tinubu for his continuous support to the FCT Administration.

He disclosed that the Kabusa-Ketti road project, flagged off in December 2024, had been completed on schedule and commended the contractor for diligence and commitment to quality.

Mr Wike applauded the enthusiasm of residents during the commissioning ceremony and noted it as a sign of public satisfaction with the administration’s work.

“I commend the youths for the support they gave to the contractors. There are some communities that when you award jobs to be done, instead of them to support the company, they pose problems for the company. In this case, they supported the company to finish on time,” the Minister said.

“When the people are happy, the government will be happy. When the government does good work, you will see the reflection in the faces of the people,” he added.

A Symbol of Development and Connectivity

Delivering the vote of thanks, the FCTA Head of Service, Mrs Grace Adayilo, described the road as a vital infrastructure linking satellite towns, boosting local economies, and improving the lives of not only AMAC residents but the entire FCT.

She stressed that the project reflects President Tinubu’s pledge to extend development beyond the city centre.

Providing a technical overview, the Acting Executive Secretary of the FCDA, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, said the road contract was awarded in November 2024 and flagged off on 4 December. He explained that the 10km asphalt single-carriageway includes concrete side drains and solar-powered streetlights.

Engr. Dauda added that the project enhances access to Kabusa, Sheretti, Ketti, and surrounding communities, with the aim of easing traffic flow, reducing travel time, and improving socio-economic and security outcomes in the area.
